My birthday is Friday.  I have gotten into the habit of throwing giant parties on my odd years, and this is one of those.  Right now, my plans include a fishbowl, $200 in cash, and a lot of secrets. You know; like any good party has. ;)

I was going to start the night at this restaurant where you eat in complete darkness, but they’re all booked up. As a replacement, I’m considering just having people meet me at a McDonald’s and have everyone put on blindfolds and eat that way.  Or maybe we’ll go to a real restaurant and I’ll have everyone order for someone else. Or maybe we’ll just drive down to Culver City and eat a whole goddamn pig like we did that one time last summer (not for my birthday; we just really wanted to eat a whole pig. Then we took the skull and shot it with crossbows. Yes, this is my life and it will probably all end badly). 

I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions because I think they’re stupid - if there’s something you think you should be doing, just go do it - but I actually did make one this year: To make more videos.  So, I’m going to try to make one video a week for the entire year.  Things I can promise you about these videos:

Thanks to everyone who came out to wish me a happy birthday last night!  I had a fantastic time - even though I drank more Chinese whiskey than any mortal ever should. Ugh.

In lieu of presents, I asked everyone to anonymously write down a secret about themselves that no one else knows. Whether we mean to or not, we all lead secret lives - and I think the things we don’t tell each other are sometimes more important than the things we do. I’m a big fan of the site Post Secret and thought it would be fun for all my friends to know something about each other that they wouldn’t - or couldn’t - say in person.
